Kansas City Professional Sports Teams
The KC region boasts pro football, baseball, soccer, hockey, NASCAR and more. And Kansas City is a city of CHAMPIONS. The Royals, Chiefs and Sporting KC are all here. Students love going to games and usually become ultimate fans for at least one of these awesome teams.
Kansas City
Royals
MLB loves KC and we love our Royals. Kauffman Stadium is located right next to Arrowhead in Kansas City’s Sports Complex. The “K” has been home to the Royals since 1973 and hosted nearly 85 million fans over the years.
The Royals have won two World Series (2015 & 1985). There’s nothing like cheering on the Royals on a balmy night at the K. Check it out with your friends.
Kansas City
Chiefs
Fans love them, rivals envy them. Let’s just say we are proud of our Chiefs! Located in Kansas City, Missouri, the Chiefs play at Arrowhead Stadium, a 30-minute drive from MNU. Often leaders of the AFC West, the Chiefs have won two Super Bowls (2020 & 1970). Under Head Coach Andy Reid, they put fear in the hearts of their competitors. Fridays during football season are Red Fridays in our town, so if you’re looking for Chiefs gear, nearly every store around reps for our Chiefs.
Sporting
Kansas city
Sporting KC is our pro soccer club. Playing at Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas, Sporting KC competes in the Western Conference of Major League Soccer. The franchise has won the MLS Cup twice (2000, 2013), the Supporters’ Shield in 2000, and the U.S. Open Cup in 2004, 2012, 2015 and 2017. It’s safe to say you’ll probably see some fellow students at a Sporting KC match.
