Mabee Foundation Gift of $1 Million is Second-Largest Endowment at MNU

MNU announced today that it received a $1 million gift from the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation to fund a scholarship endowment. The gift is part of the Mabee Foundation’s 75th anniversary celebration. The endowment will provide funding to help transform the lives of students seeking an education as well as those they serve in their future careers. It is the second-largest endowment gift in MNU’s 57-year history.

When MidAmerica Nazarene College was little more than a dream and a few sketches on paper, Don Metz and newly elected President R. Curtis Smith began the monumental work of starting a college in Olathe, Kansas in the socially and politically turbulent 1960s.

MNU is once again an NAIA Champions of Character® Five-Star Award, earning 100/100 points and placing among the top 27 institutions out of 171 winners. MNU is a member of the Champions of Character Five-Star Heart of America Athletic Conference (HEART).
